I've created a list of NAVGAPlite's traits, and have given a short description of each of them.
- Fully-Automated
NAVGAPlite was fully-automated. It communicated with the Internet via a dial-up connection to an Internet Service Provider. (dial-up was automatically initiated if the line should drop out) All communication from users wass handled through easy to learn E-Mail subject lines.
- Easy To Use
NAVGAPlite had a large number of E-Mail commands available.
- Free
Every service on NAVGAPlite was offered completely free of charge, and there was no intention of ever changing this. (Donations from players always welcomed)
- Large
The NAVGAPlite Hosting Site was a large fee free site with over 50 active games.
- Multilingual
Since NAVGAPlite was available for use to any VGAP interested person, no matter where in the world they are, steps were taken to make much of NAVGAPlite multi-lingual where possible. This was in large part possible due to a number of volunteers who have offered to help translate the site.
- Populated
In terms of usership, NAVGAPlite had one of the largest VGA Planets membership in the world, with a database of over 1200 users. This reduced to about 990 users.
- Under Development
NAVGAPlite was constantly being worked on. Existing features are being rewritten for improved efficiency, and bugs are being sought out and removed.
Most importantly, information to the users was being improved.
