Pesticide Application Systems
for Insect Control in Stored Grain
GTS designs and supplies dosing systems for accurately measuring and mixing pesticide chemicals and water for spray application onto grain.
The first of such systems was installed in the Beijing Central Grain Depot for use in spraying pesticides onto grain as it is conveyed into storage.
Water and chemicals are separately dosed using metering pumps whose speed is controlled in proportion to the quantity of grain on the inload conveyor. The water and chemicals are mixed in a mixing chamber before being sprayed onto the grain surface. Dosages may be set such that up to 0.1% of water can be added to the grain, while chemicals can be added at dosage rates varying between 5 and 30 parts per million (ppm).
Metering of chemicals is within an accuracy
of approximately 1%.
