Born in Melbourne, Gavin played in a couple of local original acts - namely The Hepcats, and
The Crows - before joining the world-renowned Abba spoof "Björn Again".

After six and a half years of travelling the globe, he decided it was time to hang up his glittering platform boots to concentrate again on original material with partner-in-crime, Janette Stuart.

While dabbling away writing pop tunes, he heard "Setting Sun" by the Chemical Brothers, and decided that Electronica was the way to go ... this spawned the birth of Tectonic.

Not satisfied with just sitting behind a keyboard, he thought that incorporating heavy live guitar
with their sound and show would be more visually interesting, as well as adding
a human element to the background of synths and techno drums.

Both Gavin & Janette enjoy the autonomy they have with Tectonic,
producing their own music as well as music videos ...
doing everything from shooting and compiling elements for computer animation,
to editing and directing the entire concept.
