This page details information about the Scoring Method:

"NAVGAP Ultimate Score"

INTRODUCTION

The 'NAVGAP Ultimate Score' system is a direct copy of a previously designed scoring method called The Ultimate Score. I would have used that system, but it is no longer supported.

I have taken the basic idea of 'The Ultimate Score', extensively modified it so it has greater flexibility and called it 'NAVGAP Ultimate Score' (NUscore).

Like 'The Ultimate Score', NUscore use scores from other sourcing systems.

WHAT SCORES ARE USED?

Presently, NUscore, is able to take the score from the following sources:
- Tim's VGAP Internal Score system (files BDATA.HST, PDATA.HST, SHIP.HST)
- Tim's Tons score system (file TONS.HST).
- VGA Scores 2.2 score system (file VGASCORE.BLT)
- PTScore 1.4 score system(file PTSCORE.LOG)
(These are normally kept by the Host).

As I find and use other score system, I will add them in to the above list.

HOW ARE THE SCORES USED?

NUscore reads the required score data files and makes the following basic maths:

TOTAL = (SCORE x sf) + (VGASCORE x vf) + (TONS x tf) + (PTSCORE x pf)

for each player.
The 'sf', 'vf', 'tf', and 'pf' values are used to vary the about of impact each type of score has on the player total score (it is a percent of score value, eg Tons x 0.75 means only 75% of the original Tons score is used).

The result is something like this (PTscore not used):
